Create a survey. Target it at specific visitors only (optional)

These surveys can be of any type - choice of options, dropdowns, text-boxes, comment boxes, matrix of choices etc. WebEngage gives you complete control of who should this survey pop up to. E.g. you can configure a survey to only show to visitors - "who came to your site via Google search, and have spent 30 seconds on your site's pricing page".

Currently, we support targeting based on -
  1. URL patterns on your site
  2. Mimimum time spent on the site
  3. Geographic location of the visitor
  4. Referring site - search engine traffic, ad-campaigns, social media traffic etc
  5. Cookies for a user
  6. Time of the day of a user's visit (e.g. show a survey only between 5pm to 11pm)
  7. First time visitors
  8. Browser/platform being used by the visitor

Note: Surveys are included in all plans. However, there is an upper limit on the number of surveys you can create per month and the number of response you can collect per survey. Once you have hit the latter, we stop displaying that survey on your site. Check out details on the plans & pricing page. Custom targeting rules will be possible via a Javascript API which will be released shortly.

Generate leads from visitors on your website. Drive conversions

Be it your site's pricing page or product's listing page - if a visitor spends enough time on these, (s)he definitely has a first level of interest. You can create a lead generation survey asking for some basic info from the visitor like name, email etc. This survey can optionally be targeted based on URL patterns or URL parameters (for your ad-campaigns). The corresponding question in the survey can be "need assistance?" or "get 10% off .." or anything you choose. The survey windows can be customized to match the look and feel of your website too (see next section).

Styling the survey window

Custom themes can be applied to survey windows via a survey CSS editor in your dashboard. Using this feature you can customize the entire look and feel of the survey window to match your site's. You can save and preview the changes in your dashboard. You can restore the CSS to default anytime. The CSS editor, currently, only works in Gecko browsers. To the rest, it will appear as a textarea field.

Note: This feature will only be available to users opting for the standard plan or higher.

Get survey responses in your inbox

WebEngage dashboard is complete with reports and analytics related to each survey. You can also choose to receive emails containing responses to your surveys - these emails can be configured to be instantaneous or a digest at a frequency you choose (screenshot below). We recommend enabling this feature for all your lead generation surveys.

Full-length, multi question surveys

While single question surveys are good on users, they leave you (as webmasters) craving to ask a few more. We understand your position. Say hello to multi-question WebEngage surveys.

  1. Use in the short survey format on your site. We'll ask one question at a time to the user. Upon submission, we take him/her to the next question in the same window until finish. User may choose to quit anytime. In either case, you'll get complete or partially complete response to the survey
  2. Send as a WebEngage full survey link in your marketing emails or simply share with friends.
