Hey Reader,

Greetings from WebEngage!

We hope you’re having a great experience with WebEngage. We’re excited to introduce new features on the dashboard. 😀

WebEngage now supports Web Push on Safari browser

With recent updates on MacOS (v13+) and iOS (v16.4+), web push is now supported on Safari browser version 16+ and requires a multi-step opt-in process.

Note:

  • Safari browser only supports text templates (similar to Firefox).
  • Currently, clients must update their integration snippet to support this feature; more information can be found in this document.
  • There are some additional steps to enable Web Push for iOS. Learn more about it in this document.

Multi-Event Analytics

You can now analyze multiple events at the same time to identify correlations, identify patterns, and gain deeper insights into user behavior across these events, all in one place.

Note: Our latest update includes an enhanced Event Analytics UI featuring user-friendly graphs for a more intuitive experience.

Advanced Filtering in Events and Funnels

Now, filter your event and funnel analytics based on Lists and choose to include or exclude users from your analysis. For funnel analytics, you can also use user attributes as a filter.

Note: Currently, this feature is not supported for Live Segments.

Enhanced Security via SDK Authentication

We have introduced SDK authentication to verify the identity of the SDK used to communicate with our platform and prevent unauthorized access to user data and other sensitive information. You can refer to this document to understand the implementation process.

Note:

  • Currently, this feature is supported for Web, Native Android, and Native iOS SDKs (not supported in Flutter, React, etc.).
  • Supported from Android SDK v4.4.1 and iOS SDK v6.3.2 onwards.

While this is an optional feature, we highly recommend clients to start implementing this. To know more, kindly reach out to us at product@webengage.com.

Copy Mobile Push Notifications to App’s Notification Inbox

Our APIs and SDKs now enable you to send a copy of mobile push notifications to your app’s notification inbox.

This offers benefits like:

  • The ability to access dismissed or undelivered push notifications in the notification inbox.
  • Enhanced push delivery, leveraging 2 channels to deliver notifications (Inbox and Push).
  • Showcasing amplified clicks and conversions by the notification inbox within push campaign stats.

Note:

  • Supported in Native Android and Native iOS SDKs.
  • Currently, this feature is not supported in Journeys and Relays.
  • Having SDK authentication is a prerequisite to enable this feature.

For more information on implementing this feature, refer to our documentation for iOS and Android.

Other SDK Updates

Android SDK v4.4.2 released In this release, we have added optimizations for App In-line campaigns.

Flutter SDK v1.2.4 released We have also added optimizations to support the Isolate plugin.

Hope you start making the most of these features and enjoy using them as much as we enjoyed developing them for you! We have some important and major feature releases in the pipeline. Stay tuned for more!
