My co-founder and I never did. Although here we are – celebrating 10 years of perseverance, expansion, and most of all, customer love!

Transitioning from a single channel to omnichannel
Back in 2011, WebEngage started off as a web engagement tool with an aim to help digital brands retain every visitor on their website.
In 2015, WebEngage transitioned into a full-stack Marketing Automation suite powering user engagement across the web and mobile. The suite comprised over 6 channels including SMS, Email, Mobile, and App push notifications. And the Journey Designer, a drag-n-drop workflow builder, soon become our customer’s most loved feature on the suite.

I love the new Journey Designer! It makes building and customizing our users' experience so much easier and detailed. The fact that you can now copy and paste blocks is a game-changer, it makes building & editing journeys so much faster and you are less likely to make mistakes. By far, my favorite part of the new design is the mass deleting option. It takes seconds to remove blocks and save the new version.
Cut to 2019 and onwards, the stack now offers 10+ engagement channels including Facebook and Google Ads.
Evolving with customers, delivering for customers
Customer feedback and love have always been the two unbreakable pillars of our journey. From our first enterprise customer to hundreds of customers now spread across continents, the feedback we received over the years from each customer has led to the launch of a seamless full-stack Retention Operating System (rOS). The OS offers a robust customer data platform, a personalization engine, an omnichannel campaign manager, and an analytics engine. We also continue to roll out new features based on the customer’s feedback and requirements.
Building a community of retention radicals
Paying it back to the community has been integral at WebEngage. In 2018, we launched our flagship event, EngageMint – themed “Stop Marketing, Start Engaging”, which also became Asia’s largest Retention-focused conference. With 30+ speakers, hundreds of attendees, and 3 editions across India and Dubai, today EngageMint is a community of over 1200 professionals from around the world who share a common passion for retention-led growth.
Empowering startups from day zero
The rise of digital transformation in the past year and a half led to an upswell in the startup ecosystem. Having lived the startup journey ourselves, we decided to aid potential early-stage startups. To avoid mistakes that we made and utilize insights we gathered from working with hundreds of customers over the years.
In mid-2020 we launched the WebEngage Startup Program – a six-month program that enabled 90+ startups across sectors to accelerate their growth from day zero. Since then the program has received hundreds of applications and we’re now set to welcome the Class of 2021-22.
Sticking to our ethos, building for the next ten
We’re now a 200 people strong team spread across 3 countries and 5 offices, $15m in annual recurring revenue (growing 100% YoY), 400+ customers across IN, MENA, LATAM, EU & SEA, 50+ partners generating over $5m in revenues via our platform and a cap-table with investors having deep conviction. Coincidently, we are closing our Pre-Series B funding round today, led by India Quotient, Blume Ventures, IAN Fund along with participation from 9 other highly reputed family offices.
